Post Ticul stone counter tops
What about the Ticul type of stone, I am thinking of using it around my BBQ counter top. I realize that use it I will have to seal it, but my main question is - is Ticul stone good for this kind of applications?

Hi JR
I wouldn’t recommend Ticul stone for a BBQ. This stone is like a sponge, no matter how good you seal it. You will have a fair amount of grease all around the BBQ and hard time cleaning it.

Very good looking stone but extremely hard to keep looking clean and there is no sealer on the market that is 100% stain resistant

Hi
I agree with Martin, Ticul is a nice stone but it is not the best solution for a BBQ tops. I have my own BBQ counter tops done in Ticul stone and I wish I knew than what I know now. The only good thing about this stone is that is local and is cheap and looks good when is new.
