Any experience with hot water recirculation. Is it worth to have such system installed and what’s involved?

Post Re: Hot water recirculation system
Hi
Personally I like the idea of having instant hot water from the taps.
If you are building new home or are engaged serious remodeling it is definitely good thing to add. On the other hand it could be costly, may not be very effective or possible to install it in an old house. You have to install a loop and connect the hot water outlets in the way in which water will circulate through them. Also it will require closed water system (pressurized) and will not work with your “tinaco” if you have one on the roof. Circulation water system is designed to reduce that wait time but it will not lower your gas or electric bill. Cost of the circulation system will depends on your plumbing layout; pump cost around 650 pesos in Home Depot.
