 Snakes in the grass?
If you are living in the Yucatan country side and you are afraid of snakes, you should consider planting some Chaca trees along your property. Chaca tree or Gumbo Limbo in English is a member of the Burseraceae family of trees, and it has poisonous resins which snakes can’t tolerate. Tree is very easy to grow, and is often use as a living fence, in the villages all over the Yucatan Peninsula.
