 Depth of Wall Foundation
My beach place is about 100 meters from the water and on the 2nd row - can you please advise me on how deep in the sand my wall foundation should be? I have heard everything from 1 meter to 3 meters! Thanks a lot

 Re: Depth of Wall Foundation
Hi Al According to old Yucatecos, you should reach level of “conchuela” when excavating foundation. It is a layer of undisturbed sea shells and it is clearly visible when you excavate. It is generally found between 4 -7 feet below the surface. This “conchuela theory” applies to the masonry stone type footing and foundation. There are other types of foundation that can be successfully use in the beach area and are structurally better and cheaper to erect. Adam
