Hi, I am thinking about making a concrete laundry counter top. Since I've never done this before I need some tips on: what concrete should be used? where to get coloring and sealing materials? And finally how soon to take the form a part?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Concrete mix: Make it rich - 2parts cement, 2 parts sand, 3 parts gravel – don’t make it too sloppy, if you do water may separate from the mixture.
Colors: If you can’t find it in Merida, use instead colored unsanded tile grout.

After two hard days of work it is done, my new question is;
do I need to seal it? And if so, what kind of sealer would you recommend.

Yes, definitely you have to seal it. But first let it dry completely, I wouldn’t apply any sealer before first 30 days of drying.
Then use low density deep penetrating sealer and remember- with sealers you have only one chance to seal it right, there won’t be a second chance. Those types of sealers are available in Merida in ceramic tile stores and Home Depot.
