 wall cracks
HI, I wasn't sure where to post this so I posted it here: I recently bought a rpartially emodeled 150 yr old house. I have noticed a series of cracks both on the external walls and some on internal stucco. I need some professional to take a look and give me remedial advice. Does anyone offer such a service? Any info will help.

 Re: wall cracks
Hi Marry You should have some engineer or contractor look at it first to determent the cause of a problem. I know couple of good engineers here and I will send you an email you with their names. John

 Re: wall cracks
the house you bought is 150 yrs old means its construction is very old so its obvious to have cracks on the wall i think you will have to reconstruct it.

 Re: wall cracks
General rule of engineering in respect to the wall cracks is If the crack is bigger then ¼ of inch it is called structural crack and need to be looked at by the qualified engineer, if it is less than ¼ of inch it is surface, settlement, evaporation or other type of crack which is not dangerous to the structure but it also need to be taken care of – patch and painted.
