If you are looking for authentic Mexican dishes, try La Casa de Frida in El Centro and their outstanding chile en nogada. If it is not on the menu, just ask for it, and you won’t be disappointed.

If you are interested in traditional and authentic Yucatan Cuisine, nothing even comes close to Poc Chuc at El Principe Tutul Xiu restaurantin Mani. I am almost sure that they have one in Merida as well.

I agree, El Principe Tutul Xiu in Mani has the best authentic Yucatecan food, but if you are in Merida try Pancho’s Mexican Platter, large and delicious plate containing several Mexican classics. You will love it!

Pórtico de Peregrina, calle 57 in Centro. We ran into this place by coincidence, and it was a nice surprise.
I would suggest this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience, divine tortilla soup and mole poblano.

My favorite authentic Mayan restaurant in Merida, perhaps all of the Yucatan, is La Chaya Yucatecan Restaurant at calle 62 x 57. A great place to go for authentic Yucatan food, with a great food and good service at a reasonable price in the middle of historical centro of Merida.

It may not be your typical Yucatecan food but if we are talking fine dining in Yucatan my vote goes to Rosas y Xocolate on Montejo.
